In terms of the CCIE Number or credentials both will be equal. However the
guy studying for CCIE 3.0 maybe more valuable in terms of the knowledge he
holds, as he would be learning the technologies/features of 'today and
tomorrow' :). But this is all relative, someone with real-life experience
without any CCIE Voice could know CUCM 7.0 etc. more than a CCIE 3.0
certified guy. The same is true for almost all
certifications/tracks/degrees.
However that said, if one studies for the CCIE Voice 3.0 without employing
'unfair' short-cuts, he/she will really have a good chance of learning these
cool new UC technologies like Presence/Mobility etc. The CCIE is an
excellent 'excuse' to study/learn something :). Specially for those not
involved with post-sales/implementation in their day-to-day work.
