Some people will always be like this... The cheap/easy way out. That
doesn't mean everyone is.
While this is an unfortunately fact of life we have to deal with, I always
find it incredibly ironic when people going for some SECURITY certification
will cheat/steal to get there. one of my long-standing peeves. :)

Well, let me share something with you guys, Mr. Mark Sh with his broken
English that we were joking and some of us felt sorry for him, is not what
we all think he is.
I kinda felt sorry for the man and wanted to offer some help, so i unicasted
the man and asking him if i could help. His reply to me was yes i downloaded
your foundation work book from one of these share sites, but i do not have
equipment, could you help me, and he would not give up, he even tried
chatting.
I do not understand the audacity of some people, its like, YES mate, i am
not home between these hours, PLEASE FEEL FREE, you can come over and steal
my rack, you downloaded my work book illegally, you might as well steal my
rack, hey mate feel free to take my car as well, after all here in US we
help and feel sorry for "A" holes like U.
This is not the forum for your kinds.
Guys like this man deserves no freaking help and mate i am not sorry for
you, i would have used stronger words, but i hope some one like you puts
both hands on your shoulders.
There are many vendors participating here in this forum, i feel sorry for
the vendor that sells you anything, because it will show up in the same
place where he found my foundation.

Couldn't agree more Mr. Morris - I was somewhat sloppy in my choice of
words. I was not (intentionally) suggesting that finding a way to reflect a
path towards CCIE certification in a resume/CV or cover letter is a bad
thing (and it well may be that "CCIE written" is somehow involved in that
effort). It's precisely the example you site that I was referring to -
listing the written under a "Professional Certifications" section of a
resume or including such nonsense in a signature block or online
professional profile. "You aren't fooling anyone in the "CCIE community"
with such shenanigans so just whom exactly are you trying to deceive and to
what end?" That was the sentiment I originally intended to convey...

I think a lot would depend on where/how it appeared in a resume. If it's
displayed prominently or under "Certifications" then I would lean towards
Scott V's theory about potentially being deceptive and hoping to get by the
HR/Recruiter types who don't know a CCIE from an MCSE but have to check a
box.
There's always potential for grey area, but I think it depends on just how
it's portrayed.
My two cents.

Gotta agree with you. Person is NOT claiming that he is a CCIE. I think you
have got to mention that you have passed CCIE Written and are scheduled to
attempt the lab. Throwing the resume out just because it says CCIE Written
is just ignorance at it's best.
Now if it said CCIE with no ccie# then that's a different story :)
