No, it will not work.
The bandwidth command only set the reference bandwidth used by some QoS
mechanism or routing protocol. It will not be used to limit throughput.
The best option for you is to use shaping instead.
policy-map SHAPE
class class-default
shape average 768000
!
interface FastEthernet0/1
! Desc to WAN
! set reference bandwidth to reflect the correct bandwidth, not required
bandwidth 768
! Shapping is required
service-policy output SHAPE
