ZBF same interface traffic ?

Hi,
I've come to discover that when you implement zone based firewall
in a router, same interface traffic does not go through
(i.e. router on a stick kind).

Does anyone know of a way out ? Seems like this is alike ASA's or Pixen
same security level traffic, but there we have specific commands to
enable it.
