I was thinking more simply - don't reboot your firewall. :) unless you're
doing an OS change (how often do you do that?) just what do you need to
reboot the PIX for? It's not a Windows box.
Kinda like WRED. It's "problem avoidance".
But otherwise NTP would sound nice.

Even if you have a dead battery the clock should get updated on a reboot.
One thing I understand could be an issue is that the IOS version needs to
support NTP so you need to check on that.
