Adam,
Yes, Self ping means you should be able to ping your own Serial interface
with the below statements.
R1 DLCI -102========<< FR>>=============R2-DLCI 201
R1 = 1.1.1.1
R2 = 1.1.1.2
R2 config as followos :
<<R2>>
Interface serial 0/0
encap frame-relay ( By default use Cisco encapsulation, use IETF in case of
non-cisco products)
no frame-relay inv
frame-relay map ip 1.1.1.1 201 br
frame-relay map ip 1.1.1.2 201
