IMHO it is preferable to define the link-local address yourself. Unless you
are in the habit of memorizing MAC addresses and such, the FE80::1 for R1,
FE80::2 for R2, etc. is MUCH easier to deal with.
As always, you have a choice, but I'd pick the simple way if I were you!
