RE: ASA with Etherchannel

No the ASA does not do etherchannels!!!

Instead we have

"Interface redundant"

And under that

"member-interface"
As such

ciscoasa(config-if)# int red 1
ciscoasa(config-if)# member-interface e0/0
INFO: security-level and IP address are cleared on Ethernet0/0.
ciscoasa(config-if)# member-interface e0/1
INFO: security-level and IP address are cleared on Ethernet0/1.

So it's a failover only setup... you can't use 2 links at once...
First one specified is the active link...

Now all your static's and references in the config will be as normal -
To the nameif placed on the "redundant" interfaces

ciscoasa# show ip
System IP Addresses:
Interface Name IP address Subnet mask
Method
Ethernet0/2 dmz1 10.20.20.1
255.255.255.0 manual
Redundant1 inside 10.10.1.1
255.255.255.0 manual
Current IP Addresses:
Interface Name IP address Subnet mask
Method
Ethernet0/2 dmz1 10.20.20.1
255.255.255.0 manual
Redundant1 inside 10.10.1.1
255.255.255.0 manual

Static (inside,dmz1) 10.10.1.2 10.20.20.2

Subject: ASA with Etherchannel

Hi Group,

I tried digging through the CCO but couldnt find any documents that
specifically mention that etherchannel is not supported on ASA. Anyone any
luck or would be able to share this implementation.

Rdgs,
Kelvin
