AW: Multicast best MA location

Hi Roberto,

In a NBMA network such as Frame-Relay, if a router acts as a spoke, thus
have no full mesh to all other spokes, the mapping agent has always to be
configured under the hub in order to flood the discovery messages correctly
throughout the network. In addition, the physical/multipoint interface on
the hub has to be configured in ip pim nbma mode.

regards

Roger

Hi guys,
do you have any kind of rule for RP and MA location?
For instance, you have the classical hub and spoke distribution, from my
experience you should place MA as the hub otherwise it will not work. But if
you have and hibrid environment between broadcast and non-broadcast
networks.
Then which kind of rule can I apply in order to make sure eveybody can see
the mapping?
Thank you,
Roberto Clavero
