No big surprise that Cisco picked NMC. They have always taken the high road
on training. Their training was always focused on really teaching you the
technology - not how to pass the lab. Learn the technology well and the lab
will follow. I know Cisco used to send their own people there on a regular
basis.

NetworkWorld has announced that Cisco will soon unveil its CCIE training

and Switching track. It looks like it will be called the "Cisco 360
Learning Program for CCIE - Routing and Switching".
*Cisco Tuesday rolled out Cisco 360 Learning Program for CCIE - Routing and
Switching, a six-month program that incorporates e-learning and hands-on
practice labs to accelerate expert-level competency. The program is designed
to run head-on against third-party boot camps, which Cisco says are not up
to par(you'll be able to read more about Cisco's thoughts on this in Network
World's IT Careers & Training newsletter on Wednesday). The program will be
made available through select authorized Cisco Learning Partners and consist
of pre-assessments, six online classes covering topics such as IPv6, QoS,
Frame Relay, Border Gateway Protocol and switching, instructor-led
workshops, practice labs and mentoring. The courses start at $5,000 but can
reach to double-digits for the mentorship features.*

Basically here's the skinny:
There was a competiton or bid of sorts between the major vendors.
It seems NMC won the bid. Maybe others but we'll see in a few days. As of
now just NMC that I am aware of.
The training program will be based on the NMC-1 Advanced CCIE 1-Week Class
currently offered by NMC.
The pre-assessments are similar to NMC's per-technology quick exams -
currently less than 15Q each as I recall - correct me it's been a while
since I tried one.
The pre-assessment will be similar to the CCIE Accessor or the Day-1 Lab
given by NMC on the first day of class.
The online classes will likely mimick and/or mirror the NMC Video on Demand,
which consequently in some cases are quite "exactly" similar to the NMC Tech
Library which is quite "exactly" similar to the NMC-1 one-week CCIE
Bootcamp. This material is nearly word-for-word verbatim to the class as I
recall.
The practice labs will likely be very much the CheckIT Labs with the CheckIT
grading system.
Anyone from back in the day who used Mentor Technologies VLabs will recall
the format and layout.
If you can still by the Tech Library for $149.00 it is probably the best
deal going since you get the material that this system will be based on.
With all of this said:
NMC's approach to tackling a lab is perhaps the most scientific and well
thought-out and planned in the industry. I think few will contest this.
Caslow coined the term "The Golden Moment".
The CheckIT Lab Grading System is probably among the best grading and
feedback system in the business.
The knowledge level of the NMC Team is enormous and easily one of the best
"Brainshares" in the business and every vendor without exception respects
NMC above all their other competition.
The scientific method that they employee is freely available for viewing and
really tells the story of how to approach the lab in a very clear and
concise manner.
What else can I tell you? Wait and see if I'm right or wrong?
However, I'm not sure that at $5000.00 to $20,000.00 for mentorships it will
be able to beat InternetworkExpert End-to-End CCIE Learning Program,
IPExperts Blended Learning Solution for the CCIE, or Narbik's $2000.00 "Till
You Pass" limited time offer.
And there are others.
Also while the team at NMC is quite superior in terms of sheer knowledge and
presentation, I would be curious to see if this knowledge can be scaled to
the level that such an announcement might presume.
