I do agree with your point, that if you are a strong engineer, you
should not have problems finding a job, no matter how difficult the job
market is.
Just have a comment :)
You said you have one position, right? You also said you have
interviewed 18 candidates, and no one meets your requirements. Where the
"heaps of jobs" come from?
Or do you mean "heaps of candidates" out there, and employers can have
"heaps of choices", at a cost "heaps lower" than a year ago? j/k ;-)
