Hello Scott,
I can tell you that there is a lot involved with wireless not just the
hardware architecture, there are now AP's, controllers, WCS software that
you have to manage, there is also the spectrum that helps you do site
surverys, there's also floor plans that you have to input. There is now new
MIMO technology with Wireless N that is in the second draft now, ready to
become standard in March of 2009. There is also servers involved, including
radius, different authentication mechanisms, a certificate server as well. I
am currently deploying a wireless N standard network for the organization
that I work for, and there is a lot of information that needs to be
considered. Please discuss with me offline if you would like.
Sincerely,
John
