DHCP server question

I've been searching the docs to help with a solution I'm trying to put
together without much luck. I've got a idea or two about what I want to do
but I'm not sure I really like any of the options. The situation is:

I've got a several PCs on a small LAN segment which all use DHCP. The sites
router acts as the DHCP server and all devices get their addresses from it.
As a proof of concept the server/app guys want to put a server on the local
LAN that hosts an application that 2 of the PCs use. Part of this
"solution" is that the server has it's own DHCP server that they need these
2 PCs to use. The PCs will still need to communicate with the rest of the
network, and the other PCs at the site need to use the router as the DHCP
server.

Since this is just a poc they don't want to seperate the devices into 2
seperate VLANs, which is obviously the best way to go and will likely be the
final solution if this gets approved.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
