AW: Multicast - RP static override

The router normally prefers the dynamic learned rp's, thus if you have
configured BSR or Auto-RP. So then, on your router, if you configure ip pim
rp-address 4.4.4.4, the router would still prefer the dynamically learned
rp.
To overcome this issue, you can configure the static rp with the override
keyword. This will prevent the router from using any dynamically learned rp.

To check, which rp your router is using, you can execute the command sh ip
pim rp mapping

For further studying, I would also recommend these articles on the DocCD,
they are pretty good:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipmulti/configuration/guide/imc_basic_cf
g_ps6350_TSD_Products_Configuration_Guide_Chapter.html

I hope this helps.

regards

Roger
