Hello Everyone
I'm looking for a study partner ( 1 or 2 ) to jump on board with me
for the CCIE R&S Lab. The purpose of me seeking a Study Partner will be
mainly for motivation ( like Gym Partners), and secondary for hashing stuff
out.
I require you to be dedicated to the end goal, which will be sitting the
Lab sometime in July 09 ( or later if you would like, as long as you keep up
with my studying schedule prior to July) .
Please do not commit to being my study partner if you have not first
committed to yourself that you want the CCIE, and have acknowledged and
accepted the sacrificies you are going to have to do to achive that dream .
If anyone is interested, please see below what my current attack plan
is, and if you like what you see shoot me a email :)
*** Also, for anyone that might want to ask, Do not ask me for copies
of my Purchased material's (workbooks, study guides, etc) as I will not hand
any out.

Giving two weeks to each of the above, will take me into 14 weeks. I will
use week 15 &16th for sole review of all of the above. Week 17 starts the
lab work ( as well as reading recommended CCIE books & Cisco Website Doc
Searching) , which I will perform from that point on. I will sit a boot
camp (Narbik's I hope !) one month before( June 09) I sit the actual exam,
and schedule my first attempt for mid July 09. I will try to dedicate 3-4
hours of study time Monday Sunday, with moving towards 8 hour on Saturday
and Sunday as my schedule permits and my sanity holds :).
*Now for what I'm using for my prep work , *
I will use Cisco books, IP Expert and Narbik Workbooks, CCIE Website/Docs,
and what ever else I come across that might help. I have the IP Expert's
CCIE R&S "Blended Learning Solution" POWER PACK coming , and will purchase
the Narbik CCNP to CCIE workbook. I have session purchased and ready to go
for Proctor Labs, as well as have a capable PC to run Dynamps/GNS3 Labs for
the Technology Specific Lab Work. I did prefer that I team up with someone
that has the same materials, but after giving it some thought, it might turn
out to be to an advantage that we have different workbooks for a Study Group
as it gives us different angles of thought for the studies.
*
As far as what I was thinking what we would do as study partners, it would
be the following,
* I was thinking of a free flowing structure, meaning for week X & X we are
supposed to go over X technology . So Monday we get together and hit the
main points we think we need to go over, Friday or Saturday we get together
and go over any problems or questions, as well as Tips we might have, the
following Monday the same thing as Friday, then the second Friday an
overview of any thing that might have stood out to us, as well as anything
else prudent for X technology ( Lab tips, Memory Helpers, ETC)
Meetings should not go longer than 20 Minutes in the sometime in the
afternoon, and will either hosted in Dimdim.com, or some form of IM Chat (
yahoo messenger, MSN Messenger ). I live in Florida so that is Eastern Time
Zone, and speak fluently both English and Spanish.
