HI Group

I have some confusion regarding IRDP .. Other redundancy protocols are
well documented but i couldnt understand this one .

PLease lemme know if my understading is fine or not

            R1 R2
             | |
             | |
   ====================== vlan X
    | | | | |
  hosts hosts hosts hosts hosts

If hosts on Vlan X want to discover the gateway ; we can configure R1
and R2 to present their candidature as gateway by using " ip irdp "
command on their respective interfaces in Vlan x .. am I right ?

Preference .. we may change on R1 or R2 ( higher the better )..

But is my understanding fine ?

Wanted to know before labbing this one .. ( i guess we can simulate
hosts by using a router and using "no ip routing" and "ip gdb irdp"
CLIs )
