Without seeing the exact question, it's hard to say for certain.
However, disallowing a vlan on a trunk or using root guard can prevent a
switch from taking over a root, but it can become a root itself for that
vlan. Therefore it depends on how you read the question. My thought was
based on a scenario I did once where disabling spanning for that vlan
was just fine, it was only used on one switch.
