There is so much you can do with just the two switches, that if anything, I
might just add a third switch now for now for the triangle but otherwise,
I'd wait till I got deeper in my studies. I worked with the 831/872 series
and they can do what you are asking. It would be similar to having a
2800/3700/3800 with an NM-4ESW Module. So you can use it in place of a
switch for a while. It will perform the functions of spanning-tree for
you.
