Hi Sal,
At the beginning you will be focus only in reach full connectivity, after some labs you will realice that is also important which path will take the traffic to desired network. In other words, when you find distance commands at redistributions solutions is just to modify routing using the shortest/best path instead than leave longest path to be taken.
For instance, if you have a direct connection between two routers but at differents ospf's areas, then the traffic will flow throught area 0 crossing more than 5 routers because interarea routes is preffered over interarea, this is undesired behaviour to correct with this kind of actions.
