I'd be interested to know how you get on Alan,
I've been playing with this and what I can see the neighbour x.x.x.x
priority x command under the routing process won't override the priority
value configured on the interface of the neighbour.
I configured R1 as DR with priority of 255, I configured R2 as priority 5 on
the FR interface There is a FR connection between them. On R1 I used the
command neighbour x.x.x.x priority 1.
Cleared both ospf processes (even rebooted) but when you do a show ip ospf
neighbour from R1, R2 shows it's priority to be the one configured on the
interface.
I even left R2 as default (1) and configured R1 under the routing process
neighbour x.x.x.x priority 0...checked afterwards and the command has
dropped the priority 0 (assume it must be default) made no difference R2
showed as having a priority of 1 and was partaking in DR election.
I hope that helps a little. It could just be the code I'm using??
Si.
