Sam,
Whenever you are doing a lab, particularly one that asks this question,
it is a good idea to take a few minutes and draw out a Layer 2 diagram.
Put all your switches in a square or a diamond, draw your routers out
around it and mark which vlans go from which routers to other routers in
multi-colored lines. It only takes a few minutes and gets quicker as
you practice the skill. Once you draw it out, the answers to these
questions are usually very obvious. I haven't done that core lab in a
long time, so I can't help you with this specific, but have used the L2
diagram concept on multiple practice labs with good success. Take it
from me, when you get to the real lab, you won't regret the time you
spent learning to quickly draw L2 diagrams.
