These misconfigs are easily told to us by IOS in case of BGP ..
For ex .. if u have given same router-id on 2 routers and u try to
establish adjacencies between them ,, you get clear message :

Rack1SW1(config-router)#
Apr 21 18:15:45.964: %BGP-3-NOTIFICATION: received from neighbor
130.1.17.1 2/3 (BGP identifier wrong) 4 bytes 96010101
Rack1SW1(config-router)#
Apr 21 18:15:50.855: %BGP-3-NOTIFICATION: received from neighbor
130.1.17.1 2/3 (BGP identifier wrong) 4 bytes 96010101
Rack1SW1(config-router)#

"BGP identifier wrong" .. clearly indicates that something to do with
BGP router-id .
