Re: which workbook are you using and why

I have used 3, Internetwork Expert, NetMaster and now I am doing
IPExpert. While any of them will teach you the same technologies, the
different ways they write up questions makes you think about
technologies differently. Even if you don't do all labs in all
workbooks, workbooks are low enough in cost that it makes sense to look
at more than one.

Here is my ranking:

1. Best for learning -- Internetwork Expert
2. Best for giving you an idea of the number of pitfalls that you might
run into -- NetMaster
3. Best for zeroing in on some specific technologies, and tying to
their COD -- IPExpert.

I will say, though that for have a completely debugged lab, NetMaster is
the best. The others have typos that can be confusing. I am about half
way through IPExpert and still have a couple of months to go, so I am
thinking about Narbik's just to round myself out based on the many
positive comments on Group Study.

I know a lot of folks use just one, I think that may work if you have
the fortitude to really study the Doc CD, but I have a hard time with
that. I tend to read what I need to do the lab in front of me. My
attempts at the real lab exposed the fact that just one workbook may not
force me into enough reading.

The only negative I have on NetMaster is that the labs are so difficult
I think I would have just given up if I hadn't done the Internetwork
Expert workbook first. Some folks recommend doing the same labs
multiple times, I find that I tend to remember them and just do the same
thing I did the last time. (sometimes the same mistakes too.)
