AW: bursty traffic generator?

I use the Spirent Testcenter with which you can do everything you want. IXIA
has similar products.

But this is not kind of a "cheap solution", this is "serious-testing-stuff".
I don't know if there is a "freeware" which can do what you are looking for.

Is anyone aware of a tool that can generate random bursty traffic? I need
this for qos policy testing, and I need something that can randomly splash
some traffic within a given bw range...
