Dear Friends,
I rather confuse about IP PIM Autorp.
1. When we use Ip pim send-rp-announce loopback 0 scope 16 group-list 50
This means the router will send as Candidate RP for group 50 right ? So this
router gonna be selected as RP or not actually controlled by the Mapping
Agent ?
How about if the mapping agent , map the router to be the RP beside the
group-list 50 ? Is the router gonna accept it ?
2. If the mapping agent use ip pim rp-announce-filter rp-list 20 group-list
21 and we don't configure any group-list behind the command " Ip pim
send-rp-announce loopback 0 scope 16 ", the router will be the RP of a group
list that mapping agent told to be right ?
Is this mean without group-list behind the command "" Ip pim
send-rp-announce loopback 0 scope 16" actullay the router will accept any
group that the mapping agent told to be ?
If yes, than when we have a question that the main reason is to map a
group-list of multicast group to a router and another grou-list of multicast
group to another router, then we don't have to use group-list behind the
command """ Ip pim send-rp-announce loopback 0 scope 16". Cause the router
will always accept what the mapping agent map and the mapping agent is the
one who control this. Am I right or wrong ?
Thanks guys for your help
