You'll get different things at different places... But in the end, all are
good if they serve a purpose.
That purpose is to let you take a lab, suffer from some time pressures and
get a grade/feedback at the end hopefully providing you with a valuable tool
that tells you what last minute things to look at before the $1,400 version
comes!
The nice thing about the vendors is that our concentration is to make
high-quality labs and testing results. We don't need to be politically
correct or nice to anyone. :) Honesty is much better.
The nice thing about the Cisco Assessor is that it's written by some of the
same people who write the real labs, so you'll get a flavor for how they may
ask a question. The results you get aren't necessarily as revealing or
helpful as the different vendors' labs are.
I have gone through one of the Assessor labs. And I'll leave it as
"interesting". Now, MY perspective is of course completely different than
most people's though! So don't view "interesting" as a bad thing! I think
from a candidate's perspective the insight to the wording can be very
revealing.
I've gone throuh some of the vendor labs as well. Those were more
challenging, and IMHO more valuable as a learning experience.
So if you have the budget, I'd recommend both. If you don't have the
budget.... Well... Ummm... I guess it depends on how comfortable you
feel with technologies and whether you want honest evaluations or some
insight at the wording. :) it's a Catch-22 definitely!

All,
Can anyone who has done the CCIE assessor and vendor graded labs and comment
on the relative merits of each of them for assessing your readiness to take
the test. The CCIE assessor is a lot cheaper than the real lab, of course,
but a lot more expensive than the vendors graded labs.
