Hi,
I wanted to personally take inputs and advice from the experts and
members from this group on whether I should proceed with my CCIE or not. I
currently hold certifications as CISSP,ITIL,CCNP (7-8 years ago),Nortel
advanced certifications (voice, data and security),MCSE,CNE and I have
experience on routers,switches,firewall,VoIP,Video,Call Center,wireless etc
-but unfortunately most of my experience is in non cisco products such
as 3Com,Netscreen,Nortel,HP.Though I understand routing and switching quite
well, however I am not good with the CLI of Cisco and some of the propertiery
stuff from Cisco.I currently work as Network Architect/Network Engineer on
non-cisco products,I think to grow further in my career I would need to get
expertise in Cisco products.
I am confused whether to go ahead with CCIE or
take direction of CCSP,Checkpoint,CCVP,Microsoft and then become more overall
expert and knowledgeable in all segments of networking while leveraging my
past experience Or I should focus on doing my CCIE and leverage the immediate
benefits of this certification and also get recognized for CCIE as brand and
tag and then grow in this direction and especially earn good money.
I am
confused if you have inputs for me please do let me know.
 Thanks and regards
Raj
