I have just re-taken the CCIE Written Exam as re-certification and i can assure you that i found it very hard - even if you are 100% prepared.
As foreigner (non-native) English, i already get extra time, but even with this extra time, the questions were so hard, it took 1 to 5 minutes
just to read the question, examin the diagram (looking at all OSPF costs, details, "typos" in the configs), then reading all possible answers and eliminating one by one.
I can assure you - a lot - of questions take 5 minutes to answer or even more. It was the first time i actually came into time problems. So i think the exam is already hard enough.
Cisco should better leave out the stupid detail questions like "What is the protocol number for DOT1Q tagging?", What is the TCP port number for TACACS ?"
"What is 802.3ab ?". If i need to know this, i will look it up. Don't see the use of memorizing all these numbers. It is exactly this kind of questions that can be "cheated" upon with pass4sure and testkings. And they don't show your real knowledge.
regards,
Geert
