Luan,

But if within that cushion of three attempts first two succed but third fails your sla still turns up dead, doesnt it?

so if you set the ping at 5 seconds frequency, then set the delay down to 16
seconds. So you have a cushion of 3 fail ping. If during that time, the
ping succeed, then the delay timer just reset.

Subject: sla config for ip reachability

Hi group,

Is there a way to configure the sla monitor for a ping destination
tracking in such a way that you can average the number of responses and
compare against a predefined threshold?
With a simple udp ping tracker I can monitor the destination, but as soon
as one of the pings times out the tracker is brought down, which would not
necessarily indicate that the target is actually down... Ideally I would
like the sla to go down if lets say 3 out of 5 pings fail...

Thanks,
