RE: Explain OSPF LSA types

I had constant problems with this until I saw someone (whose name I won't
mention but sounds like "bartick") draw a diagram representing all the area
types. I visio'd it up but as it was a direct copy of someone else's material
I wouldn't be able to share it. Besides, the learning happened in the
drawing, not the staring. So if you can draw a few circles, with the center
circle representing area 0 surrounded by a different area type, then draw out
which LSA types will be seen in each area from every particular area, it
really clears the whole mess up. I actually blogged about this a little
because the problem with learning OSPF is that you have to separate areas,
network types, and LSAs from each other, learn each facet individually, then
put them back together. And the only way I really did that was to start
thinking of OSPF as a set of databases with a method of dissemination and
syncronization build around it, which we call the protocol.
