Check your IDLE PC value. This value is significant to the IOS version you
are using. A wrong IDLE PC value can chew up processor.
1) setup .NET file with one 1 router and IOS you want to calculate the IDLE
PC.
2) Launch, wait for it to load, wait for all the interfaces to come up.
3) press "enter". I have found that this is critical to getting the correct
value.
4) run the dynagen or GNS3 get new idle PC value.
5) re-run with new value, watch processor impact.
Also, if you are running many routers, use multiple hypervisors. Put 2-4
routers per hypervisor.
This method has worked well for me. I have some simulations that are
running 24+ devices with a max of 80-90% cpu utilization on a dual-core
3ghz.
Also, once issue that you may notice is that at consistent high processor
your serial and Ethernet connections between devices have a tendency to
timeout, even if the router is fairly responsive.
Hope this helps.

As soon as I add more then 5-6 devices CPU utilization of laptop start
touching 100%. Not able to work because it started responding very slow. I
am planning to use two laptop to practice a full scenario ( 10-12 devices).
Can some help to get this configured if anyone using the two laptops.
Thanks in advance
