Dear GS,
I am working on IEWB workbook vol II Lab 7. In the task 1.4 for dot1q
tunneling, it has been asked for
"configure sw1 and sw4 in such a way that R3e0/0 and Sw2da0/20 appear
directly connected via cdp".
In SW2, the switchport fa0/20 is a layer 3 port and R3e0/0 is also a L3
port.
Sw2 fa0/20 is connecting to SW4 fa0/20.
In sw4 fa0/20, do we need to configure the " switchport mode dot1q tunnel"
and assign a vlan for this or simply permit only " l2protocol-tunnel cdp".
because when i did the lab, when i configured the following, the cdp was
not established
In SW4:
int fa0/20
sw mode access
sw acc vlan 100
sw mode dot1q-tunnel
l2protocol-tunnel cdp
But if I do the following configuration, an cdp neighborship is established.
int fa0/20
l2protocol-tunnel cdp
Can you give some valuable descriptions?
thanks
sathappan
