As the notes clearly say, option 82 can be disabled and should be as only
the cisco network registar and avaya dhcp servers support it. And who in the
hell uses those dhcp servers? most people use windows 2003 server, etc.

"no ip dhcp snooping information option"

why play games, why not just disable it?

Subject: PXE boot and DHCP snooping option 82 environments

Hi group,

When you enable DHCP snooping on a cisco switch, it automatically inserts
option 82 information
inside the DHCP packet. What will happen to the options maybe already
present inside the DHCP packet (ie. PXE boot option 60). I hope it does not
get destroyed when it gets forwarded when it hits an ip helper line.

Has anyone have problems running PXE boot in a dhcp snooped environment ?

regards,
Geert
