i was reading jeff doyle routing tcp/ip vol 1
and i discovered that in one of the configuration exercises under the eigrp
section it had a question regarding configuring authentication between two
routers and the authentication should start 2 days from that present date
,, i looked at the solution .So i decided to lab it up,,,i discovered that
if u go ahead and apply the authentication commands on the interface your
eigrp neighbor relationship will go down and the neighbors will only come up
until 2 days time.
I think such info should be explicitly stated as a side effect.
And i want to advice that when reading cisco books always try and lab it up
with dynamips or any other means
,as most times their configs are not always right.
OR correct me was it a bug with my IOS
