Yes. It will send query to every spoke. You need the stub command on the
spoke.
You could have feasible successors. Up to 6 I believe for each routes that
you have :)
Not sure if Cisco has any updates, but the last time I look at this stub
thing, you need to have a hub and spoke topology for this "stub" feature to
work - if in a full-mesh and everyone configured with stub, it won't
work...which remind me to check with my Cisco SE on update :)

I have a hub router and several spokes that are not stub yet, but I send
only default route to them using otgoing distribute-list.
My questions:
- if a route gets active, does it send query to every spoke despite of
distribute-list?
- can I elminiate queries with route sumamrizatoion, or any technics other
than seting the spokes as stub?
