Does summarization or distribute-list influence EIGRP queries?

Hello Group!

I have a hub router and several spokes that are not stub yet, but I send only default route to them using otgoing distribute-list.
My questions:
 - if a route gets active, does it send query to every spoke despite of distribute-list?
 - can I elminiate queries with route sumamrizatoion, or any technics other than seting the spokes as stub?
