Congrats Jeff.
Dont worry if you looked at the dicor in SJ or RTP's lab, you went back to
10 years ago (at least!!!) in a time machine anyway, so you can say you got
in 1998 and you aren't long overdue!...

Subject: FINALLY GOT IT.....
FINALLY....I have been wanting to write this email for a LONG time. Got
my number at 4:30am this morning (passed Yesterday).
I started in this field 10 years ago after getting out of the military.
The civilian NOC I worked in was doing X.25 on Nortel, but was switching
to IP and sent me to a Cisco course with Chesapeake....BCRC/ACRC and I
was HOOKED. Got my CCNA, then changed jobs, got my CCNP and had a long
lull before finally getting my CCIE. I want to thank everyone in
GroupStudy for their help and keeping my spirits up after bombing on the
3rd try. This GROUP is paramount in passing the CCIE. The sharing of
knowledge and technique is crucial to persons who don't have access to a
large group of coworkers studying for this exam.
Two people I have had the pleasure of working with and I need to really
thank is Dennis Lauer and Jeff Bazar. Both have showed me that hard
work and perseverance pays off. Also that SPIN is a cool thing.
As for my CCIE training, I PERSONALLY recommend Netmasters and IPEXPERT
(the two tools I used). This is NOT a slam on any other training groups
that are out there, these just worked for me and were close since I am
in DC. Nor is this in any order of preference, just the order of
materials I used (this sounds like some kind of disclaimer, heh.) I
want to thank Bruce, Val, Bob, India (for handling short notice class
sign-up) and Scott for their time and assistance in breaking it down and
explaining it.
What a year, Detroit Redwings win the Cup (11th) and I get my CCIE. So
far so good. Next up, SERVICE PROVIDER CCIE.
