Has anyone got a view on this CAR scenario?
When asked to rate limit using CAR and given the following values
1) Traffic matching ICPM echo and ICMP echo-reply
2) Limit to 256K
3) Normal Burst 5000 bytes
4) Maximum Burst Bytes NOT SPECIFIED
Should you take the Maximum Burst Bytes value to be the normal Bust Byte
value or should it be the minimum allowed??
i.e.
rate-limit input access-group 110 256000 5000 5000 conform-action transmit
exceed-action drop
or:
rate-limit input access-group 110 256000 5000 2000 conform-action transmit
exceed-action drop
access-list 110 permit icmp any any echo
access-list 110 permit icmp any any echo-reply
Guidance appreciated
Regards
