There are more than a couple things wrong with the Foote.

First, I've never even heard of Foote. Second, they state they queried ~20k
people in those many cities? One building I walked by yesterday had more
than 20k people in it.

And lastly, they don't state their methodology.

Given the apparent interest in this thread, I thought I would pass along
an article I read recently about certifications and pay.

The link below is the actual study by Foote Partners that is referenced
in the above article. In it, you will find that CCIE is one of the best
certifications in terms of percentage drop is salary during the first
quarter of 2008. In fact, according to this study, network technologies
in general are pretty good skill to maintain.

I don't know about all of you, but I am personally relieved to know that
all the years of study, prep and late nights will only result in about a
2% drop in salary!!!
