Such a thing as a silly question?

This may sound like a funny question and please excuse me ahead of time if
it indeed is deemed to be such : )

I work on the basis that on completion of a lab, it is the 'golden' rule
that all routes are visible to all routers.

My question is, does this extend to External Backbone routes also?

What I mean to say is if BB routers are pumping routes in , we often
summarise on them and do all sorts of stuff, but out of whats left of the
original routes, should they be reachable to all routers via Ping? Even if
it means running a default route in the network?

What's the general consensus on this?
