Ahhh... So you're moving the traffic not particularly interfacing with it.
None of the implementations I've worked with have decided to fully go that
path yet, so I won't have concrete information for you. But I can tell you
for basic fax (or modem) operation, your key is in the configuration of the
dial peers. No vad. No other compressions. Careful on your codec choice
(most liklely g711). No error correction or anything else that messes with
the transmission. Remember that fax protocols have their own keys and error
correction/detection procedures, so you want no competition for that.

Thanks a lot for your quick response - we are upgrading to verison 9.3 and
will be using our VoIP infrastructure to route fax over IP traffic. I was
wondering if you would be nice enough to point me to some good documentation
as to how to setup a router for routing traffic from the server to voip
network. Sorry about asking the silly question though.
