Dane,

I use Rancid/Subversion, I know this will vary per vendor and how you
access their lab so I only can tell you mine and a few others I've
worked on.

Example my setup (As you've done many times)
2511 - ip 1.2.3.4
ASA1 ip 1.2.3.4:2005
ASA2 ip 1.2.3.4:2006
PIX1 ip 1.2.3.4:2007
PIX2 ip 1.2.3.4:2008
SW1 ip 1.2.3.4:2009
SW2 ip 1.2.3.4:2010

I just add host names in my hosts file on my Unix box, so when I'm
taking my 5min breather I run rancid to go grab the configs and store
them. I have copies of all the configs from all of my labs in stages so
like when I go from Layer2 to Layer3 and between each IGP. Yes a little
over the top and yes you have to know rancid and subversion and the
setup on your "rental lab" will have to be worked out. However I do the
same thing with dynamips+Router TermServ with a loopback ip (I do this
so my dynamips is always on a server I can get to and the client
computer doesn't matter). The loading of the configs is more painful but
still easy.

For me since I use it in production it's pretty simple to migrate might
take you like 45 or so to get it going depending on your unix
background.

Good Luck Dane!

I'm off to IE's 12 day next week!

Roger
