As far as I know you can only summarize on ABRs and ASBRs. If it doesn't
stipulate that you can't create more areas, I would advertise those networks
in another area and then use "area range" to get the summary into the OSPF
area you want. If you didn't have the ASBR restriction, you could create
another OSPF process, advertise those networks in it, then redistribute
between the OSPF processes, but again, that will make it an ASBR I believe.
If there's another way that's cleaner without creating another area or OSPF
process, I would be happy to know as well.
