Hi lst,

What is the differenece between PPP over L2TP and PPPoE?

When I read about L2TP/IPSec Vs. IPSec, people suggest the advantage of the
former is that you can tunnel more than just IP packets when using L2TP
(e.g. IPX), since IPSec can only tunnel IP packets and L2TP can carry
others. Is this the case?

Is L2TP only capable of encapsulaating PPP packets directly? PPP will then
carry IP, IPX and others, and the end result looks like L2TP is able to
tunnel IP, IPX and etc?

Thanks,

Chris
