Hi list,

I searched the archive but was unable to find an up-to-date answer.

I am wondering what specfic equipment are required for the Lab exam?

I've looked at CISCO official guideline and various other sources; the
official guideline suggested the followings,
(http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/ccie/security/lab_equipment.html)

   - Cisco 2600 Series Routers
   - Cisco 3600 Series Routers
   - Cisco 3700 Series Routers
   - Cisco Catalyst 3550 Series Switches
   - Cisco PIX 500 Series Security Appliances
   - Cisco VPN 3000 Series Concentrators
   - Cisco IPS Series 4200 intrusion prevention system sensors
   - Cisco Secure Access Control Server for Windows
   - Certificate Authority Support
   - Cisco ASA 5500 Series Adaptive Security Appliances

With the different series routers, I heard they were remarkable similar.
Would it be necessary to obtain at least one each or I can get away by just
getting any one of them? Can anyone point out what specific Model do I need
to get under that Series?

Also CISCO is ending sales of PIX firewall, however it is still listed here.
I wonder it is necessary to get it or should I get its replacement instead.

Thank you,

Chris
