RE: CCIE Benefits.

I make my clients purchase Smartnet contracts at time of purchase... I'm
just talking about the ~38% gold partner discount vs. 50%+ percent NHS
discount on the hardware.

For instance, if we are buying a 2811 SEC bundle from NHS, we will go to CDW
and purchase the ADV. IP Services license separate for the IOS (if we are
using BGP, etc.)

I'm just concerned with them paying too much buying gear from a reseller.

The NHS model has worked well for under 100 seats and beyond.

It can matter.

If Network Hardware sold a software relicense part number to your customer
when selling the equipment, then it's legal.

If not, it would be considered stolen software.

My guess is that they didn't. 99.99999% of them don't. That's how they
make money.

Makes no difference... people looking for deep discounts these days buy from
the secondary market (like networkhardware.com)

I tell my clients I can't get you a discount like a Gold partner, but I'll
make it up by not charging you $375.00 an hour for my CCIE implementation
efforts...

I work with NHS to push gear...

Frankly, I don't know many companys that buy new cisco gear, the attitude is
its on smartnet anyway from networkhardware, do we really care?
