Hi Sam,
Had a second look at your email..... when you are prompted to use confreg
use all the defaults except for the line console speed you need to change
..... If you manage to get the new image into the flash and you still end up
in rommon just do the following:
meminfo -- to check if you main memory is ok
dev --- to see where the new image is located, if you have a valid image
into your flash then do
confreg 0x2142 --- load the first valid from your flash ignoring the startup
config file
or
boot <exact image name from your flash>
