Booting a router from a network

Hi
I'm using 2600 (not xm's) for my backbone routers (in the my lab) but the
only way I can load the correct image onto the device is by booting it off
the network over an Ethernet link. Now I'm assuming I need to take the
following steps to achieve this:
1) Assign an IP address through DHCP to the router. I assuming that
this step is required as it needs to load the image before running the
config file. Thus no IP address would have been configured.
2) Download the image via TFTP

Firstly am I correct with the above steps? Secondly can someone tell me or
direct me to some documentation on how to do this please. Also I'm open to
other suggestions on better ways of achieving this. I'm a bit to skint to go
and buy higher end routers just for my backbone (in the lab) routers.

Thanks in advance and apologies if this has been discussed before.

Regards, Ernst
