RPF check for traffic from RP

Hi,

            Just wondering when pim sparse mode is configured and share
tree is used (b4 switching to source tree), does the multicast traffic
forward by the RP actually subject to RPF check when it hits the
downstream router? Does the downstream router actually detects that
the traffic is received form interface where RP is seen and exempt the
traffic from RPF check?
