Wouldn't the difference be that one works for AutoRP and the other for BSR?
I think you spell that out in the message you wrote!
Looking the DocCD you'll find that both are methods of filtering particular
types of multicast traffic.
You might consider putting a permit in your auto-rp ACL though! (grin)

Subject: ip pim bsr-border or ip pim multicasting boundary
Hi Folks,
I am practicing msdp between two different AS. I was wondering if i am
using PimV2 or auto-RP, how can i filter RP request from one AS to another.
I can use
ip pim multicast boundary auto_rp
ip access-list st auto_rp
deny host 224.0.1.39
deny host 224.0.1.40
OR in case of BSR(PimV2)
i can use
ip pim bsr-border
What is the difference?
Please advise.
Regards
Saptanshu
